Don Negativo (Fool Like You) The big mess since you’ve come around The icy waters, the sinking down The sentimental story you don’t even care about But then you say, You’d rather hear me shout it out loud You puncture holes in every word tossed your way You muddle love with madness each and every day You make no sense at all, your mind it’s slipped away But then you say, it’s likely better that way None of these worlds could ever settle you down All contradiction, never any common ground Say, maybe if I was a fool like you too I would batter the oceans Remove all the blue Maybe if I was a fool like you Maybe if I was never guaranteed to satisfy I couldn’t ever wonder what that world would be like I’d rather not even tr y to tr y to try I guess there’s no need to turn around now Walk the streets like some pumping vein Turn your nose up at the eyes turned your way You make a puzzle of a happy day Cursing the sunlight, begging the clouds to rain I still don’t get it, I’m in love, So why don’t you find a girl too I still don’t get it, I smiled today, You never do I still don’t get it, the world is your parade but you Walk the side streets, It’s better we don’t parade on you None of these worlds could ever settle you down All contradiction, never any common ground Say, maybe if I was a fool like you too I would pummel the oceans Remove all the blue Maybe if I was a fool like you Maybe if I was never guaranteed to satisfy I couldn’t ever wonder what that world would be like I’d rather not even tr y to tr y to try I guess there’s no need to turn around now It’s like you know the world’s gonna end, But you just want to see it all play out

Rise & Fall 05:21
Rise & Fall See I was hoping that I’d find myself Goliath’s tree To chop it right down with the axe life gave to me But my heavy heart working slow, wearing me thin The worr y’s that I’ll do too much thinking Then I’ll never see you again But in the morning now the light shines Never the same Everybody wonders if we’ll ever see it again Everybody wants to know when We all might rise and fall again We might rise and fall Till the breakwaters erode us all Stumble through emotions My mind on my sleeve Keeping myself wondering If you’ll ever come and save me But the world seems to give itself to better the fix Providing all the notions That we’ll never stop living this When the nights give us solace, that bit of relief Find us in a moment that will never complete Still everyone wants to know when We might rise and fall again We might rise and fall Till the breakwaters erode us all When David battled love like he battled the beast Shooting down the devil to reveal to him his queen Took the love of another and confesses the sin Cursed be the child of the man, the new king His actions they crumble, subtle and slow Everybody wonders why we never let go Everyone wants to know when He might rise and fall again We might rise and fall Till the breakwaters erode us all We might rise and fall Hoping this love never leaves us at odds Maybe one day the love will come and fill us all Till the breakwaters erode us all Till we rise, we will rise again

Heaven’s Done Baby says she’s good enough for me Then she says I go play to rough for you She’s done, she says With this game of touch and go Baby says she’s good to me You know, this ain’t no make-believe love She’s gone crazy In this game of rock ‘n roll Little lady, she wants me Says that I’m crazy And I can’t believe in everything that she says To me lately is one time around If you heard the word, You heard the sound of it lately This heaven’s done, got to go This heaven’s done, got to go She’s done, baby But says she’s time for one more show Little lady, she wants me Says that I’m crazy And I can’t believe in everything that she says To me lately is one time around If you heard the word, You heard the sound of it Little lady, she wants me But since I’ve gone crazy Gotta back where I belong Deep down in the woods Of the pain and the sorrow And heartache and everything that’s wrong Little lady, she wants me I’m crazy And I can’t believe in you lately You want me, you want me, You want me back again

Tidal Waves 06:06
Tidal Waves I’m gonna love you, write up across the sky Little lessons learned, up in the by and by But you’ve been running just Bits too fast for me now You’ve been running too fast, Too fast for me now How about you say, to me in the morning light Wouldn’t it be fun, wouldn’t it be nice If you could just treat me right But you’ve been running just Bits too fast for me now Little lessons of how it all works somehow Somehow it all comes round Filling up my worried mind But moving me along You see these days they fill themselves With memories Of back when I chose rambling on I want to see you by my bedside Baby, don’t leave in the morn Or else these tidal waves Might sweep us off our feet And drop us back where we left off Little lady love, why don’t stay with me tonight I’ve got miles to give, and roads to roam And all of them with you in sight But you’ve been running just Bits too fast for me now Little lessons of how it all works somehow Somehow it all comes round Filling up my worried mind But moving me along You see these days they fill themselves With memories Of back when I chose rambling on I want to see you by my bedside Baby, don’t leave in the morn Or else these tidal waves Might sweep us off our feet And drop us back where we left off I want to see you by my bedside Baby, don’t leave in the morn Or else these tidal waves Might sweep us off our feet Drop us back where we belong I’ve seen the glor y of the love you bring You give me life, the strength to carry on That bit of open hearted madness, Crossed with fear Never seems to hurt no one So don’t go running from my bedside Babe, I’ve got the story that you want You see these tidal waves Have swept us off our feet Dropped us back where we left off

Leaving Train Happiness comes to me again, Saw it through some broken glass, real thin Cut me deep, way past my skin, Says it’s moving in And sadness rolls away, I saw it boarding on some leaving train Hope it never comes back again, You and me say we’re OK with that Finally the day settles in, Feet keep moving but the mind don’t stick Fight the battles, clench the fists, This love is hard to resist And know that love may leave us soon, Taking off upon some big blue balloon But why’s it always got to be so blue Say you’ve got a good life Don’t let it go to waste Open up every door Then stay, just stay Make each dream a memory Never let one run astray Because the mind won’t settle too long On what it did today Happiness comes to me so Saw it through my bourbon glass, running low Cuts me deep, reads the story slow Thinking I could use some more Then sadness rolls away I see it boarding on that leaving train Hope it never makes its way back again I’d be OK with that Say you’ve got a good life Don’t let it go to waste Open up every door Then stay, just stay Make each dream a memory Never let one run astray Because the mind won’t settle too long On what it did today

Worcester 07:18
Worcester Got a good mind, but you can’t help it See all the things you’ve stored inside Got a good mind, but you say forget it No need to go digging around all night Around all night… While you wait long days Had a good life, but now forget it You’ve slipped quite deep into a slide Had a good life, so don’t you regret it All the love you gave is still alive Still alive… While you wait long days Come inside my head I want you to see I’m stuck down in this 40 foot hole, By myself, hope the rabbit can dig me out Coming all these days Now I’ve got to choose To let me in you Had a great love, but now you’ve left it All the moments we’d come to admire Had a great love, don’t you forget it Will it out, find your fire Find your fire… While you wait long days Come inside my head I want you to see I’m stuck down in this 40 foot hole, By myself, hope the rabbit can dig me out Coming all these days Now I’ve got to choose To let me in you Come inside my head I need you to see Stuck down in this 40 foot hole, By yourself, hope the rabbit can dig you out Reeling all these days Now you’ve got to choose To let me through For 40 days and nights I was forced to be I’m gonna hold on to you Like you held on to me Fighting all these tears While you’re left to choose To let me in you Come inside my head I want you to see I’m stuck down in this 40 foot hole, By myself, hope the rabbit can dig me out Coming all these days Now I’ve got to choose To let me in you

The Door 06:22
The Door Come inside, you should see The road I’ve paved for you clear Hold on now, strong but still Can’t take much more of this You’ve run out, of time to spare The moment’s drawing near With love around, our hearts and fears The door has become clear So tonight, we’re gonna look you up and down While you try to change the world And tonight, maybe I could save you Like I’d meant to do Like I always meant to do for you Hold us now, time will heal The sadness we’ve come to feel Now I know, love is real We’ll miss you, daddy dear But tonight, when we look you up and down You’re trying to change the world Oh tonight, maybe I could save you Like I’d meant to do Like I always meant to do for you Just come and say it to my face A little anger, a little bit of you in me Just come and say it to my face Whole lotta loving, I don’t need an excuse for it But when you throw it in my face I just combat it, and never thought to chew on it Just come and say it to my face Whole lotta loving, Can’t you see all of us pleading with you Oh, tonight, we’re gonna look you up and down You’ve changed the world But maybe now, Tell me when I moved, did I move to slow? ‘Cuz never did I mean to move so slow Sometimes now, Thinking that it all goes by too quick Thinking that it all went by too quick Oh tonight, maybe I could save you Like I’d meant to do Like I always meant to do for you

Part Two Oh no, what’s this Finally sinking in? I heard it all before But the message never cleared Now time turns real again And little would we know You’d be walking out the door The dust, it settles Upon the windowsills The sun shines through and sheds It’s light upon to fill An empty heart or two When pain is painted thick Someday we’ll run with you again And I can be here for Whenever you want me to be Oh God, how could You take a man so soon? He didn’t much believe in you Till disaster seemed to loom Upon his life so fickle You know, how could anyone ever know When the door could close on you And I can be here for Whenever you want me to be While you take flight on a cloud Of miracle dreams You know, we’ve all got to let go And sentiments run, Leave a freight train track of them And we’ve all gotta cut Bolts of lightning How they clip Leave us wanting More of him And I can be here for Whenever you want me to be /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Open The Door Come up to your eyes once again Open the door, and let the rest of us in Come up to your eyes once again Open the door, and let the rest of us in Open the door I have waited here for too long Struggling with moments Most of which have gone wrong Desperate measures Then followed by bombs Tussling with anger Mixed emotions left on So come up to your eyes once again Open the door, and let the rest of us in Open the door Open the door and let the rest of us in

The Greatest Advice Love means more than this When tossed off to life’s great abyss Out is the flame That once burned this insane world over Went lost while slowly cutting ties As the cold crept in from the outside We’re here, with you now Sleep well, my love Don’t suffer, because Love means more than this When tossed off to life’s great abyss Out is the flame That once burned this insane world over You were there to set me straight When I went wrong With a hand to lend, Maybe a story to back it up “Pick your battles, son,” he says It’s the greatest advice that I’ve got to give Don’t live suffering Because love means more than this When we’re tossed off to life’s great abyss Out is the flame That once burned this insane world over La da da da da da, we used to sing out loud Ha ha, we’d laugh, When maybe we felt down To be graced by an energy strong And living to make you proud But it’s all turned around now But what I’ll take out of it, I will behold in you Love means more than this When we’re tossed off to life’s great abyss Out is the flame That once burned this insane world over

Baby 04:07
Baby Find myself awake at night Warming hearts Rocking you to bed To lullabies Knowing that I’ll see in you The greatest world A better view Of how this man should live Don’t wait for me To set your course I’ll pave your road Then let your horses free To be what you’ll be My baby… Walk you down the street one day Hand in hand, you say “C’mon, Dad, Let’s skip school today and play” Wondering what I’ll say when you Bring home some lucky dame and you Claim to be in love I will not resist to let you Make your own mistakes And when you do, I’ll help you’ll carry on My baby… I’ll hold out my world for you Save it all, and tell you truths Of what it means just to be you Grow on your own, son, but enjoy your youth I’ll be here the moment that you fall down Like my father was for me When I felt turned around And I’ll give all my world just to be for you What you’d expect from me As completely as I can do And then you’d wonder… How the time has passed away And here you are holding your own little baby And with him looking back at you Maybe then you’d realize just why I wrote this song for you My baby…

Punk 05:31
Punk I’ve been coming up forward Trying to move me right back We’ve been moving the world all over These crooked lines, crossed crooked tracks Trying to move me in one way Then you cut me in two While I’ve been running all these days Tr ying to get to you, And when I do… you Would you do it to me twice like so? You never understood words like “let go” Or would you do it to me thrice that time? I just mistook it just for you tr ying to be kind But then you do it to me once then go That’s not the way it’s supposed to go, I know That woman walks off way too slow She tried to call me a punk You’ve been riding up one way Trying to hop a plane back You’ve been fooling the world all over Like some two-bit punk speaks smack My mind’s moving in one way Until you steer me in two Still I’ve been running all these days Tr ying to get to you, And when I do… you Would you do it to me twice like so? You never understood words like “let go” Or would you do it to me thrice that time? I just mistook it just for you tr ying to be kind But then you do it to me once then go That’s not the way it’s supposed to go, I know That woman walks off way too slow The nerve to call me a punk (I know that woman, she’s a punk)

about

The third full-length release by the Upstate New York band, Rise & Fall was recorded as a tribute to frontman, Bryan Weinsztok's father who passed away October 16, 2011, after a one-year battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer that took over the mind and body of a man who truly created the American dream for himself. The album is being released exactly one year from Alex Weinsztok's passing for just that reason. Many of the songs were written by Bryan Weinsztok in the one year leading up to October 2011. Rise & Fall is a tale of inspiration, moving through hard times and negativity, life's loves and loves lost, and landing on triumphs, the universe's great gifts, and ultimately the positive mindset we should all flood ourselves with on a daily basis. Enjoy - this is by far and away Soul Risin's absolute best studio work yet.
